Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is determine to bring the club back to its former glory.
The 26-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Ajax two years ago, despite doubts over his physicality and ability to play in England, but has proven himself and become a key player for the club.
Speaking to La Nacional on his return to Argentina for World Cup qualifiers, Martinez insisted it was up to him and his players to bring the team back to form and achieve success.
“As soon as I stepped foot into Carrington for the first time, I felt something special,” Lisandro said. “We are going to win trophies here, that’s what I felt. It was like the power of honour, the power of strength… something that inspired me a lot. ‘This is where trophies are won,’ I told myself.”
