Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to be drawn on the possibility of breaking the deadlock again after netting his 900th career goal.

Portugal beat Croatia 2-1 in Nations League A Group 1 on Thursday, giving Roberto Martinez’s side a three-point start.

Portuguese media asked about the chances of ‘CR7’ setting another record after the 39-year-old striker recently scored the 900th goal of his football career, with many believing that Ronaldo could be aiming for the 1,000th goal.

“As you know, records come naturally. I don’t break records, but records that I chase,” Ronaldo said.

“That’s why I’m happy, but for me the most important thing is to focus on teamwork. After what happened at the European Championship, we had to put that aside and that’s what we did.”

When asked about the future of the Portuguese national team, especially winning a major championship, Ronaldo said that he has no regrets because he has won a major championship with the team before.

“Portugal won the European Championship, Promotion Ufabet which is equivalent to winning the World Cup. I won two with Portugal, it would be great to win another one. I don’t motivate myself for those reasons, I just want to enjoy football, enjoy every moment.”
